The Psi Phi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. recently handed out $7,000 in scholarships to Winston-Salem/Forsyth County high school seniors. A total of seven students were presented $1,000 that can be used toward their college fees and tuition.
“We were proud to honor these young men and their families at our chapter’s June meeting,” said Terry Colaire, chairman of the chapter’s scholarship committee.
Chapter Basileus Richard Watkins said, “These scholarships are yet another affirmation of Psi Phi pouring into our youth and uplifting our community. Congratulations to each of the scholarship recipients, their families, and Brother Colaire and Brother Green for a job well done.”
Scholarships winners are:
- Ethan Bailey, Parkland High School
- Jarian Benson, West Forsyth High School
- Calvin Rice, North Carolina Leadership Academy
- Cameron Simmons, Reagan High School
- Kyle G. Pemberton, Forsyth County Day School
- Lieyton Pilson, Forsyth County Day School
- Sterlyne Graham, Winston-Salem Street School
These scholarships illustrate how Psi Phi continues to support the community. The chapter recently made a $500 donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
